Mission Statement.

To dramatically reduce the incidence of preventable, needless drowning through the use of technology, education and public awareness.

Aquatic Safety Concepts LLC was founded by three fathers and friends after one of their childrens' classmates drowned at a town park. The 9-year old boy was believed to have been submerged for 5 minutes before his body was finally found*.

The tragedy occurred despite several lifeguards, day camp counselors, and even parents watching the water that day. The founders were shocked to learn that most drownings involving children happen with supervision present, and that drowning is a leading cause of death of young people in the U.S. and worldwide.

Deeply impacted by the needlessness of that event, and its effect on the entire community, the three founders realized that they had discovered their life's purpose: reduce—if not eradicate—the incidence of preventable drowning.

Determined to make a difference, the three founders began working with leading experts from a variety of disciplines from around the country. The goal? Develop a practical, affordable and highly reliable system that would monitor every swimmer and immediately alert supervisors if someone was in danger of drowning.

The result of this monumental collaboration is the revolutionary Wahooo® Swim Monitor System for commercial facilities, and now iSwimband™, the world's first personal wearable drowning detection sensor.

What was once a vision born out of tragedy is now a reality; a reality that we believe will dramatically reduce the risk of preventable and needless drowning tragedies.
