In designated swimming areas, such as pools and lakes, drowning can still occur even with caregivers, parents, or lifeguards watching over swimmers. In fact, government statistics indicate that nearly 90% of drownings happen with some type of supervision present. Learn the facts about drowning here.

While neglect can be the cause, these tragedies often occur because drowning is extremely difficult to detect. Unlike how it is portrayed in the media, drowning happens quickly, silently, and often without unusual behavior. Sadly, many victims have drowned while friends, family and caregivers looked on, completely unaware of the tragedy until it was too late. It's time for a change.

With the advent of seatbelts, smoke & fire detectors, bike helmets and portable defibrillators, countless lives have been saved or spared injury.

Surprisingly, technology has never offered a practical and affordable solution to detect or prevent drowning despite the fact that it is a leading cause of death of children and young adults.

That is, until now.

iSwimband provides parents, caregivers, lifeguards, teachers, coaches, resort staff and more with a simple, portable and expandable system to monitor people and pets in and around water. While it is not intended nor should it be used as a replacement for diligent supervision, iSwimband provides an additional layer of safety and peace of mind by reducing the risk of preventable and needless drowning incidents.

From Aquatic Safety Concepts. It's our name. And our passion.

Aquatic Safety Concepts LLC, the makers of iSwimband (and the commercial system, the Wahooo® Swim Monitor System) was founded by three fathers after the tragic and needless drowning of a 9-year old boy in their Connecticut hometown.

Dismayed and frustrated that a child could drown while several lifeguards and counselors were present, they began an eight-year endeavor to develop a practical, reliable and affordable drowning detection system.

iSwimband was designed with the guidance and collaboration of leading and passionate aquatic safety experts, technologists, designers and engineers. We believe that it will change aquatic safety forever.

Because nothing is more important.
